Report: North Korea deploys midrange missile to east coast

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea has deployed a mid-range ballistic missile to its east coast, but there are no signs it is ready to launch, a South Korean news agency reported Tuesday.
The North has tried but failed to launch four so-called Musudan missiles since April as it continues to defy U.N. resolutions banning the use of ballistic weapons and technology that could be used to fire a nuclear weapon.
Leader Kim Jong Un has vowed to pursue the nuclear weapons program despite international condemnation and U.N. sanctions imposed after North Korea staged its fourth underground atomic test in January.
“We have detected signs that the North has deployed what appears to be a Musudan missile,” a government source told the Yonhap news agency, speaking on condition of anonymity.
A South Korean military official declined to confirm that information but said the military was closely monitoring the situation.
