Col. Nadja West took command of Europe Regional Medical Command during a ceremony Thursday at Nachrichten Kaserne in Heidelberg, Germany.

West, who replaces Brig. Gen. Keith W. Gallagher, will command 19 Army health care facilities that serve more than 104,000 soldiers, families and other beneficiaries in Europe, according to a press release.

West’s new post follows her command at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, N.C. The U.S. Senate on May 7 confirmed West’s promotion to brigadier general, ERMC spokesman Steve Davis said.

Gallagher heads to Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii to serve as commander of Pacific Regional Medical Command, the release states.
