Viewers and listeners of American Forces Network at all Pacific bases may experience programming interruptions starting later this week: It’s that twice-a-year period when the sun messes with the network’s satellite signals.
Radio and television programming may be interrupted for up to 10 minutes at a time Oct. 2-11, said Keith Lebling, AFN Tokyo Detachment chief.
Each spring and fall, he said, when the satellite gets between the sun and the earth, the sun’s radiation overpowers the satellite signals.
Those with further questions should contact their local AFN outlets, he said; information also can be found at www.myafn.net.
