Retired Lt. Gen. Brent Scowcroft, who served as national security adviser to Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, was given the National Defense University Foundation's first International Statesman and Business Advocate Award Wednesday night in Washington, D.C. The award was presented in recognition of Scowcroft's "lifetime of service to his country and his support of the free enterprise system."
