YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The Sakana Pool is scheduled to open June 14, base officials said.

The outdoor swimming facility’s summer kickoff coincides with the first Saturday after the end of the school year. Weather permitting, its daily operating hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Former Misawa school official takes Osan jobOSAN AIR BASE, South Korea — Truly Schramm has been named the new assistant principal of Osan American High School, the Department of Defense Dependents Schools system announced.

She had been assistant principal at Robert D. Edgren High School in Misawa, Japan, since 2002.

She’s also taught at Osan High as the band, choir, guitar and jazz band instructor.

Schramm holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Texas Woman’s University and a master’s in business management from Central Michigan University.

School booster club to host flea marketYOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — Yokota West Elementary School’s booster club will be hosting a yard sale and flea market from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
