SEOUL — The renovated Hannam Village Towers won’t be open to military families this month because the work isn’t completed, according to housing officials.

Move-in dates are now targeted for this summer.

Housing officials had hoped the buildings would be ready for occupancy in January.

But the Korea National Housing Corp., which owns and leases the buildings to the Army, said that only the first phase of an 18-month plan has been completed.

"The good news is this will give us 264 sets of brand-new quarters," said U.S. Army Garrison-Yongsan commander Col. Dave Hall in a press release.

"We expect to have units available around summer for the PCS season," said USAG-Yongsan Housing Manager Carol Jones.
