Members of the Kurdish Culture Club of Ludwigshafen plan to hold a nonviolent protest in Mannheim, Germany, on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m.

The group will be protesting recent police raids by Belgian law enforcement, according to an e-mail sent by the Installation Management Command. On March 4 police raided a television station in Belgium and confiscated equipment and documents. According to The Associated Press, 18 people were briefly detained. Eight people accused of links to the Kurdistan Workers Party, known as the PKK, were arrested. The United States and European Union consider the PKK a terrorist organization.

Protesters are expected to gather at the Mannheim Wasserturm (water tower) and then march to Paradeplatz to hold speeches, according to IMCOM’s e-mail.
