YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Two soldiers on loan from units in South Korea are returning to the area as part of the U.S. Army Soldier Show.

Spc. Tiffinie Irvin and Spc. Rechell Sears are among the 15 active-duty, Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers who make up the cast of the traveling, 90-minute live musical show, a Morale, Welfare and Recreation press release said.

This year, the Army Soldier Show will be performed at various locations in South Korea from Sept. 20 to Oct. 3.

Irvin, 20, is a motor operator with Company D of the 702nd Main Service Battalion at Camp Casey. A native of northern California, Irvin learned to sing, dance and perform by watching television, the release said.

Irvin also has been in a music video by Missy Elliott and Eve.

Sears, 23, is assigned to Company D of the 516th Personnel Support Battalion at Yongsan Garrison. She performed with the top show choir in Florida during college.

Like the other members selected for the troupe, both Irvin and Sears are temporarily assigned to the U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center’s Army Entertainment Detachment.

The Army Soldier Show is on a six-month tour, during which they will perform 103 shows at 57 locations in 21 states, the District of Columbia, South Korea and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the release said.

Cast members vary in rank from private first class to first lieutenant and include an infantryman, broadcast journalist, military policewoman, armored-vehicle gunner, licensed practical nurse, food-service specialist, microwave-systems operator and mental-health specialist, MWR said.

The first U.S. Army Soldier Show was written during World War I by Irving Berlin, who was stationed at Camp Upton, N.Y., in 1918.
