The Defense Department has identified a 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment soldier killed by a roadside bomb last week in Iraq.
Staff Sgt. Du Hai Tran, 30, of Reseda, Calif., died in Baqouba of wounds suffered when a roadside bomb detonated near his unit while on patrol, a DOD news release stated.
Tran was assigned to the Vilseck, Germany-based 2nd Cav’s Fires Squadron, the statement said.
The time and date for a memorial service for Tran has not been set, Army officials said.
