GRAFENWÖHR, Germany — A memorial service will be held Monday for an American civilian employee of U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwöhr who died March 24 from injuries suffered in a two-car crash near Ensdorf.

The Army identified the employee as Tony Brown, 41, a U.S. Army veteran employed as the fitness specialist at Vilseck’s Rose Barracks Fitness Center. U.S. military police, German polizei, and fire department and medical personnel responded to the scene of the accident, which happened at 12:48 p.m., the statement said.

German and U.S. military police officials are investigating the accident. A doctor pronounced Brown and the German driver of the other vehicle dead at the scene, the statement said.

The service for Brown will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home Rössl at Süß, Frohnhoferstrasse 8, the statement said.

Brown is survived by his three children — Patrick, 18, Jessica, 16, and Kevin L. Stigler, 15 months, the statement said.
