MARINE CORPS AIR STATION FUTENMA, Okinawa — Marines stationed in Hawaii and across Japan recently engaged in some friendly competition aimed at boosting comradery and maintaining physical fitness.
A Warrior Games event — hosted Thursday by the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing at MCAS Futenma’s sports field — featured more than 200 Marines from Marine Corps Base Hawaii, MCAS Iwakuni in mainland Japan and Okinawa. They competed in Marine-focused physical challenges such as an obstacle-course relay, a pull-up challenge, a Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement, or MTVR, pull and an elite warrior competition.
First-place winning individuals and teams were presented with medals, trophies and special 72-hour liberty awards.
