KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — Base celebrations for Asian-Pacific Heritage Month begin Saturday at Marek Park.
Events begins at 11 a.m., and include free samplings of food from Japan, Korea, China, Guam and the Philippines, Asian-Pacific storytelling, an art exhibit, cultural dances and a martial arts demonstration, said Elizabeth Fullon, Asian-Pacific Heritage Month committee member.
The festival will continue until 3 p.m.
“This year’s observance will focus on both celebration and education,” said Laura Love, committee coordinator. It is the 26th annual observance of Asian-Pacific Heritage Month.
