Federal employees who want to enroll or make changes with Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance can do so during the “open season” that runs through Sept. 30.

This is the first open season in five years. Persons who want to enroll or make changes are advised to consult their human resources officer. Possible changes include the addition of new family members under the coverage, or an increase in coverage.

Eligible employees will be able to enroll or make changes without having a physical or answering any questions about their health. The new coverage would take effect Sept. 1, 2005.

The group life insurance was established in 1954 and is the largest group life insurance program in the world, with more than 4 million participants, according to a new release.
