CAMP ZAMA, Japan — More than 80 adults and children competed in the 2003 Season Opener Trout Fishing Derby on Saturday.
Anglers had two hours Thursday to reel in more than 300 rainbow and brown trout that were stocked in Zama’s Dewey Park Pond. Prizes included tickets to Tokyo Summerland and Sesame Place for the smallest and largest fish, as well as for the highest pound totals.
Alex Crosslin’s 2.87-pound trout was the day’s biggest catch. He beat out 90 competitors in the largest-fish category. Sean McShea’s 0.14-pounder won the smallest fish award.
