Free Lynyrd Skynyrd concert tickets will be given out in the Rhein-Main, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Hanau, Giessen and Friedburg communities in Germany beginning Monday.

The 30 Years Concert will be at Rhein-Main Air Base in Hangar 38 at 7 p.m. on June 12. The 90-minute concert — sponsored by the 469th Air Base Group Services, AFN and Jim Beam — will help launch the European leg of the band’s 30th anniversary tour.

Only 5,000 tickets will be passed out to Department of Defense ID card holders on a first come basis throughout the communities.

At Rhein-Main, tickets will be available at the base exchange, with a two-tickets-per-person limit. Ticket limits may be enforced at other communities as well.

In the Wiesbaden community, tickets will be available at the 221st Base Support Battalion Public Affairs Office in rooms 215 and 218.

In Darmstadt, tickets will be available at the Special Events Office, Building 4027, on Cambrai-Fritsch Casern.

In Hanau, there will be four pick-up locations: Outdoor Recreation, Building 459, at Old Argonner Caserne; Army Community Service, Building 9, on Pioneer Caserne; the International Club, Building 1355, on Fliegerhorst Caserne; and the Army Community Service on Armstrong Caserne, Building 2207.

In the Giessen and Friedburg communities, pick up tickets at ACS, Building 3, on the Giessen Depot; at ACS, Building 3608, on Ray Barracks; or at ACS, Building 6543, in Butzbach.

It is not necessary to be a member of the local communities to receive tickets.

AFN will be giving nearly 200 free tickets away throughout central Germany twice a day from 5 to 9 a.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m. until the concert date. Listen for the cue to call in and then call DSN 329-4183.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. on June 12, AFN will do a live remote from the concert grounds, including an interview with the band. There will be food, drink and concert memorabilia vendors.

Concertgoers must carpool, with at least two people per vehicle, or will not be allowed on the concert premises, according to a spokeswoman for 469th Services.

No coolers, glass or video cameras will be allowed. There will be limited seating available, so guests should be prepared to either stand or bring blankets to sit on.
