An early-morning fire Tuesday in Naples, Italy, damaged the child development center at Capodichino, prompting officials to transfer all the children and staff to a larger facility in Gricignano.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which was spotted by security forces personnel at about 4:45 a.m., said Petty Officer 1st Class Stephen Woolverton, a base spokesman.

Woolverton said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and no damage estimate was available.

Military fire crews put out the blaze.

The facility will be closed until the investigation is complete and repairs can be made. Woolverton said the Gricignano site, a 20-minute drive from Capodichino, is big enough to handle all the children.
