American Forces Network viewers in Europe may notice small disruptions in reception starting Monday as crews at AFN’s central broadcasting center upgrade equipment, AFN announced last week.

Though the company performing the work, Scientific Atlanta, does not expect interruptions, “the possibility of momentary signal loss or freeze-framing does exist,” according to an AFN press release.

A spokeswoman for AFN Europe said Friday that disruptions, if they do happen, are likely to take place in the latter half of the upgrades, which run through March 2.

Campbell entrance to reopen

A renovated entrance at Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg, Germany, will open Tuesday, according to a news release. Gate 3, located along Rheinstrasse, will be open to traffic at 6 a.m. The gate has been under construction since last fall.

Traffic leaving Campbell Barracks must exit at either Gate 1, along Römerstrasse, 24 hours a day, or Gate 4, between 4 and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All Installation Management Agency-Europe personnel, residents of Mark Twain Village North, and people going to either the MTV schools or the child development center, must enter through the MTV guard point located along Feuerbachstrasse. This is the only vehicle access to MTV North. MTV North traffic will continue to exit the same way until the barriers along Rheinstrasse are removed. Röblingstrasse will be blocked on both sides of Rheinstrasse, as it was before construction began, the release said.
