The Okinawa District of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools has announced that spring registration for 2005-06 has been scheduled for April 11-15.

Students attending school on Kadena Air Base will register at Kadena High School; students from Lester Middle School, Kubasaki High School, E.C. Killin and Zukeran elementary schools will register at Lester Middle School. Student registration for Bechtel and Kinser elementary schools will take place at the respective schools.

For parents with students at both Bechtel or Kinser schools and Lester Middle School or Kubasaki High School, Lester Middle School will be the registration point.

School registration will double as bus registration.

Registration at Kadena High School and Lester Middle School will be from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 11-14, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15. For registration times at Bechtel and Kinser elementaries, please call the schools.

To re-register students, parents must provide a copy of the most recent housing assignment letter or a copy of an off-base housing lease. Servicemembers also must bring a copy of their orders, or an extension if their orders expire after Sept. 1, 2005. Civilian employees must bring orders or employment verification.

To register new students, parents must supply a copy of orders, extension or employment verification; the student’s birth certificate or passport; the student’s Social Security number; and Immunization Form 122.1. A copy of the most recent housing assignment letter or off-base housing lease also is required. For those who live off base, a map to the family’s housing is needed.

Students must be present at registration to receive a bus pass.

To apply for free or reduced-price lunches during registration, parents must provide a current Leave and Earnings Statement.
