CAMP ZAMA, Japan — Married couples will have a chance to restate their blissful devotions Friday night during the annual Marriage Renewal Ceremony.

Family Advocacy Program is sponsoring the event and chaplain Lt. Col. John Powers of the Camp Zama Chaplain’s Office will lead couples as they renew their wedding vows.

“This is a great chance to enrich your marriage and recognize family strength,” Family Advocacy spokeswoman Yoko Clingensmith said Monday.

According to Clingensmith, the ceremony is free to all couples and includes photography and wedding cake.

Preregistered couples will also get a certificate for renewing their vows.

Last year, only seven couples participated in the event, Clingensmith said, adding officials hope for better participation this year.

“This is a good opportunity,” she said, adding couples should bring family and friends.

Individual couples can renew their vows from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Camp Zama Chapel. Receptions follow in the fellowship hall.

To preregister or for more information, call Clingensmith at DSN 263-4785.
