Changes to punctuation in the July 29 story on an Iraqi interpreter and his injured daughter changed the writer’s meaning. The sentence should have read:
“The only hope you have is to get her to an American hospital?” said Maj. Brent Cummings, executive officer of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, for which Izzy is an interpreter.
Maj. Cummings was repeating, in question form, something the interpreter had said to him.
