A March 2 story should have included that although a 160-pound soldier can have four drinks per hour and remain under a .10 blood alcohol concentration, according to a 2nd Infantry Division guide, further drinking after the first hour will have a cumulative effect that could raise the BAC over that level. While a person can consume four drinks in one hour, the liver metabolizes alcohol at a rate between .015 and .025 per hour, meaning that person could not consume four drinks every hour and remain under the .10 concentration according to the guide.
