U.S. civilians working in Italy and the United Kingdom will have a little more money in their wallets due to an increase in their post allowance.

The increase, effective April 12, is attributed to the dollar losing in value against the euro, according to a U.S. State Department news release.

For civilian workers in Italy, post allowance rose about 20 percent. That means a family of four earning between $45,000 and $47,999 a year will receive $72.69 more a paycheck. The same family in parts of the United Kingdom will receive $51.92 more a paycheck.

Allowance changes in Germany were not in areas where troops are stationed.
