Lt. Col. Mark D. Landers took command of the 233rd Base Support Battalion during a ceremony Wednesday at Cambrai-Fritsch Kaserne in Darmstadt, Germany.

Landers replaces Lt. Col. L.J. Strife, who moves on to an assignment at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va.

Landers was previously assigned to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., where he served as the intelligence operations officer for U.S. Central Command from its Forward Headquarters in Qatar in support of operations Enduring

Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Landers, a native of Bradenton, Fla., received his commission in military intelligence in 1986.
