CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — There is a lot for sale at camps Foster and Kinser commissaries this weekend. Literally.

The Defense Commissary Agency’s worldwide case lot sale comes to Camp Kinser on Friday and Saturday with “great prices on high-volume goods,” said Kirk Schmitz, store administrator.

“This is the time to stock up on caseloads of nonperishable items, like back-to-school boxed drinks,” Schmitz said, promising savings of 50 percent or more.

The sale will be held in tents in the Camp Kinser Commissary parking lot from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and in the Camp Foster Commissary parking lot from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“Come early because these bargains won’t last long,” said Cynthia Blair, Foster’s grocery manager.

Foster’s sale is to offer cookie and cake mixes, microwave meals, Hamburger Helper, bathroom tissue, detergents, cereals, coffee and various canned goods.

Commissary shoppers saved more than $5 million at May’s worldwide case lot sale, according to DeCA officials.

The final sale on Okinawa will be Oct. 1 to 3 at Kadena Air Base.
