Airman sentenced for pot, Ecstasy useAn RAF Lakenheath airman was sentenced Tuesday to four months’ confinement, given a bad-conduct discharge and reduced in rank to E-1 for using Ecstasy and marijuana, according to a release from the 48th Fighter Wing public affairs office.

Airman Ronald Moore Jr., from the 48th Medical Support Squadron, pleaded guilty in a special court-martial to two counts of using the drugs on several occasions during the spring and summer of 2006, the release stated.

Moore was charged with the crime in the fallout of an Air Force Office of Special Investigations probe into drug activities in the dormitories at RAF Lakenheath that netted 10 airmen in an undercover sting last September.

Moore’s wrongful-use trial is one of several recent and pending cases that resulted from the sting.
