The Army Community Services will celebrate its 42nd birthday at Torii Station on Monday, according to an Army release.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. in Building 236. Buses will leave the Kadena United Service Organizations at 10:30 a.m. and return at 1:30 p.m.

Jewish services to be held at Camp FosterServices for the Jewish memorial day of Tisha B’Av are scheduled to be held at 8 a.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Camp Foster Chapel complex, according to the Camp Foster chaplain’s office.

Services are open to all who would like to attend, said Rabbi Kevin S. Bemel, a Navy chaplain.

Semper Fit seeks Marines for rugby teamSemper Fit is looking for Marines to play on the All-Marine Rugby team, according to a Marine administrative message.

Marines should submit their applications to their local Semper Fit office no later than Aug. 15.

The All-Marine Rugby training camp is scheduled to be held at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 13 to 22. The Armed Forces Rugby Championship also is scheduled to be held at Camp Lejeune, Oct. 23 to 28, the message said.

Kitty Hawk making final port visit to AustraliaThe USS Kitty Hawk pulled into Brisbane, Australia, on Thursday for what is scheduled to be the ship’s last port visit to the country before decommissioning, according to a Kitty Hawk press release.

Queensland Premier Peter Beattie, members of the media and onlookers met the ship’s crew.

About 145 sailors were to participate in five community relations projects in the area, including visits to a nursing home and a children’s hospital.

Crewmembers also were to participate in a farewell five-kilometer run organized by Kitty Hawk’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation division that will pass through downtown Brisbane and end in Brisbane City Botanical Gardens, according to the release.
