Two more military communities in Germany have Independence Day festivities planned.

U.S. Army Garrison Schweinfurt will celebrate on July Fourth at Kessler Field. Events start at 9 a.m. with a run. Adults can try the 10-kilometer run, and kids can try the 2-, 3- or 5-kilometer run/ walk. Register in advance at the Kessler or Finney Fitness Centers, or at Kessler the day of the event. The event is open to all U.S. I.D. card holders and their children ages 6 and older.

In addition, a celebration including sports tournaments, bouncy castle for the kids, food, music and entertainment kicks off at 2 p.m. Live music begins at 6:30 p.m., just after the “Salute to the State Flag” ceremony. The night will end with a fireworks show beginning at 10:30 p.m.

In Hanau, Germany, July Fourth events will run from 2 to 10 p.m. at Pioneer Kaserne. Events include music, food and beverages.
