GRAFENWÖHR, Germany — One American is dead following a crash between two vehicles with U.S. drivers here Monday, according to an Army news release.
The crash occurred near the town of Kaltenbrunn on the B299 highway, according to U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwöhr public affairs officials. Drivers of both vehicles were taken to the Weiden Klinikum hospital. One driver died at the hospital later in the morning, while the other remains hospitalized, the release stated.
German and U.S. emergency services responded to the accident, which happened at 7:05 a.m.
The accident is under investigation and the release of names is pending notification of next of kin, according to the release.
