A look at what’s happening on July Fourth at bases around Europe. Most events are open to ID card-holders only.

BeneluxBrussels — The Brussels American Community puts on its Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 7 from 3 to 11 p.m. at the Brussels American School.

GermanyAnsbach — The fun kicks off at 11 a.m. outside the Apache Club at Storck Barracks in Illesheim. Carnival rides, game booths, food and beverages, face painting, arts and crafts and competitions will liven your day. Live music from 6 p.m., with fireworks at 10 p.m.

Bamberg — Celebrations will take place July 4 throughout Warner Barracks. The fun includes a golf tournament at Whispering Pines, a 5K fun run or 10K race, scavenger hunt, and German American soccer game. The festival begins at 4 p.m. at Friendship Park and will offer jumping castles, dunking booth, paintball tent, bungee trampoline, tug-o-war, hot rod car show, dog sled rides, food, drinks and live entertainment. Fireworks light up the sky at 10:15 p.m.

Baumholder — The Hall of Champions parking lot will be the focal point of activities. Enjoy typical Fourth food, keg tapping ceremony, live music, karaoke and a gong show. At Minick Field, you’ll find field activities, relays and games. Kids can enjoy arts and crafts, rides and a bouncy castle. Fireworks go off at 10:30 p.m.

Darmstadt — Darmstadt celebrates July Fourth from 6 p.m. at the Darmstadt Middle School in Lincoln Village. There will be food, beverages, games, activities, entertainment and fireworks.

Heidelberg — Festivities start at 4 p.m. at Patrick Henry Village and will include fireworks. Note that traffic flow will be restricted. Parking will be available behind the elementary school.

Kaiserslautern and Ramstein — Independence Day celebrations start at noon on Ramp 6 on Ramstein Air Base. Live music at the fest tent will suit all tastes, from reggae to country to a U2 tribute band. Kaiserslautern Military Community Idol finals take place at 7 p.m., and fireworks kick off at 10:30 p.m.

Mannheim — The Mannheim summer fest continues through July 8, featuring carnival rides, live entertainment, disc jockeys, food and beverages. The fest is in the parking area of the bowling center and the Top Hat Club on Benjamin Franklin Village. Fireworks go off at 10:30 p.m on Independence Day and closing night. July 5 is Family Day, with discounted rides.

Spangdahlem — Community activities will be held near the main gate. Activities for the kids begin at 4 p.m., free burgers and hot dogs at 6 p.m., and music throughout the evening. Fireworks will go off at 10:30 p.m.

Stuttgart — The celebration kicks off at 1 p.m. on July 4 and continues through July 8. Enjoy rides, games, food, live entertainment, face painting and more on Patch Barracks. Fireworks will be shot off on July 4 after dark. Family Day is Friday, with discounted rides 4-8 p.m.

Vilseck — Enjoy Independence Day at the Vilseck Army Airfield from 3-11 p.m. Musical entertainment, general access and fireworks are free; to experience the attractions, buy a bracelet ($5 for adults or $3 for children 12 and under). A free shuttle bus will run from Grafenwöhr.

Wiesbaden — Festivities start at 4 p.m. behind the Tony Bass Fitness Center at Wiesbaden Army Airfield. Find bungee trampolines, a mechanical bull, bouncy castles, and games and activities for children. Rides are free. Entertainment will include a hip-hop dance troupe, a live DJ, and performance by last year’s Military Idol winter. Fireworks at 10 p.m from Minue Field. A shuttle bus will run from the housing areas.

ItalyAviano — Independence Day festivities begin at 6 p.m. at Freedom Park and will include scavenger hunts, face painting, bouncy castles, games and food and drinks. The U.S. Air Forces in Europe band performs 8-9:30 p.m., and fireworks will start at 10 p.m.

Camp Darby — Celebrate Independence Day with free barbecue, fireworks and beach fun. The beach opens at 10 a.m., and a DJ will offer music from 7 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m.

Naples — The Festa Americana continues now through July 4 in Carney Park. Independence Day festivities start at 2 p.m. and will include a car and motorcycle show, dog show, costume contest, Tae Kwon Do demonstration, a fire eater, the Allied Forces Band, and other musical entertainment. Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.

SpainRota — Rota’s celebration takes place July 3 in the port area and will include games, food and live music. After dark, fireworks go up, followed by a family-friendly drive-in movie.

United kingdomRAF Mildenhall — Independence Day celebrations will take place at RAF Feltwell, and include a fun run, car show, carnival rides, pony rides, bouncy castles, face painting, birds of prey, martial arts demonstrations, softball games, live music and DJs. Food, drink and games complete the day. Fireworks at 10 p.m.
