Parts of a dining hall at Bagram, Afghanistan, have been renamed and dedicated in honor of five Army aviators killed in a May 30 crash while taking part in combat operations.

The Pegasus Inn dining facility now has the “Hall of Heroes,” to honor the troops from the Company B “Flippers” of the 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division.

The troops who were killed when their CH-47 Chinook went down were Chief Warrant Officers Christopher M. Allagier and Joshua R. Rogers, Army Staff Sgt. Charlie L. Bagwell, and Army Sgts. Brandon E. Hadaway and Jesse A. Blamires.

Framed photos and biographies of the troops now hang on the walls of the dining hall along with a memorial stand.

“The Hall of Heroes will be a constant reminder of the sacrifices that Flipper 75 and crew paid while we’re here conducting this mission and this is a great tribute to them,” 82nd CAB commander Col. Kelly Thomas was quoted as saying.
