AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy — A 31st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron senior airman pleaded guilty to several drug charges in a court-martial Tuesday, a base spokesman said.

Mohammad Odatalla pleaded guilty to conspiracy to wrongfully use and possess marijuana, wrongful possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, wrongful use of marijuana, wrongful use of psilocin and wrongful use of seeds containing THC.

He pleaded not guilty to a charge of wrongful communication of a threat, and the judge ruled in his favor.

Another charge of wrongful possession of marijuana in hashish form was dropped due to a pretrial agreement, the spokesman said.

Odatalla was sentenced to 10 months’ confinement and ordered to forfeit $823 a month during that time. He also was reduced in rank to E-1 and given a bad-conduct discharge.

He had already served 83 days of confinement before the trial.
