NAVAL AIR FACILITY ATSUGI, Japan — The base’s air-conditioning season will begin Monday and end Oct. 9, command officials said Friday.

After Monday, the air conditioning will be turned on at base facilities when the temperature reaches at least 78 degrees for three consecutive days.

The base saves $1,500 each day that it does not turn on the heat or air conditioning, base spokesman Timothy McGough said.

For information, call the base public works department at DSN 264-3140.
