YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Two teams of U.S. Army recruiters will be hitting South Korea in the coming weeks, but not to sign fresh faces for the service. Instead, they’ll be seeking soldiers interested in becoming the next generation of recruiters.

Two teams from the Army’s recruiting command in Fort Knox, Ky., will be at bases throughout the peninsula from June 14-18, meeting with prospective candidates. “This happens about once a year, and they’ll be at bases from Area I to all the way south,” said Sgt. 1st Class Robert Bates, an Army recruiter stationed at Yongsan.

The teams are looking for soldiers between the ranks of E-5 and E-7 from any specialty field, Bates said. In some cases, E-4s also are eligible. Although the presentations are information sessions only, the recruiters will be able to provide soldiers with directions on how to apply for the program.

The two teams are scheduled to make the following stops:

• June 14:

Camp Casey, base theater, 10 a.m.

Camp Henry, 20th Area Support Group conference room, 2 p.m.

Camp Hovey, base theater, 2 p.m.
