An airman based at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, was found dead in his off-base home in Landstuhl on Wednesday, according to an Air Force news release.

The Air Force provided few details on the incident.

Members of the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron in addition to German police and medical personnel responded to the scene, the release said. The airman was declared dead at 9:59 p.m.

The Air Force would not release the name of the airman until notification of next-of-kin.

The death is under investigation.
