RAF MILDENHALL — The Air Force’s renowned Thunderbirds display team will return to the United Kingdom this summer for one of the biggest air shows in Europe, the Royal International Air Tattoo.
Also planned for the annual event at RAF Fairford are a series of events to pay tribute to the U.S. Air Force’s 60th anniversary and the 65th anniversary of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe, according to a RIAT news release.
The commemoration events will include a variety of U.S. aircraft from the past and present, from the P-51 Mustang to the F-117A Nighthawk, plus “a wide range of American-themed entertainments, including a star-spangled outdoor concert,” the release reads.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley is also scheduled to speak.
