American Forces Network TV this weekend plans to broadcast footage of high school graduation ceremonies in 15 communities in Germany and Italy, officials said.

Much of the footage aired last week, but not all of the segments arrived in time for AFN to present them in a coordinated way, said Roger Williams, spokesman for AFN-Europe.

But the segments, which aired June 7-10, were so well received by parents — those deployed or on the homefront — that AFN decided to rebroadcast them.

Williams said AFN would air ceremonies on Channel 9, starting from 8 a.m. to about 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In many cases, the footage is the work of school audio-visual departments.

First on the list is H.H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany, where many sons and daughters of 1st Armored Division soldiers go to class.

“Principals have been getting all sorts of e-mails from soldiers downrange,” said Frank O’Gara, spokesman for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools- Europe.

“The feedback was very, very positive.”
