Col. Stephen P. Mueller, current commander of the 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, will become chief of staff of the Joint Warfare Center Allied Command Transformation, a NATO position at Stavanger, Norway.

Mueller has also been selected for promotion to brigadier general. He is slated to move toward summer’s end, according to an Air Force release.

Col. Dave Goldfein, currently the 366th Operations Group commander at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, is scheduled to replace him at Spangdahlem. Specific dates for the change of command ceremony will be released as they become available.

Mueller assumed his present position in July 2002, leading the wing through combat deployments in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
