DODEA-Europe champion and reigning Stars and Stripes wrestling Athlete of the Year Eli Spencer is now also an All-American.

Spencer earned this latest accolade last weekend at the 27th annual National High School Coaches Association National Wrestling Championships, held April 1-3 in Virginia Beach, Va. Spencer, a Stuttgart senior, wrestled at 182 pounds and finished fourth in a field of 49 wrestlers from 23 states, including multiple state champions. The top eight finishers in each weight class received the coveted All-American distinction.

The achievement comes just weeks after Spencer completed one of the most dominant wrestling careers in DODEA-Europe history.

Spencer won consecutive individual European championships at 195 pounds after coming to the powerhouse wrestling program from Incirlik, earning Stars and Stripes wrestling Athlete of the Year honors both seasons.

With Spencer as a team captain, the Panthers won Division I team championships in both his junior and senior year. Spencer posted a 29-0 season record as a senior, with all 29 of those wins coming by pinfall.
