Fields of Fayetteville, N.C. and E Company, 187th Infantry, rides a mule to deliver copies of Stars and Stripes to scattered Army units near Beirut. The papers were printed at Stripes' plant in Griesheim, Germany, and flown overnight to Lebanon.
