WinterparadeLocation: Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam, NetherlandsDates: Dec. 25-29; the show moves to Haarlem Jan. 4-5. Up to 500 guests are invited to take their seats at a 400-foot-long table to indulge in a festive menu and all kinds of live entertainment. Although the performances are partially given in Dutch, lots of the acts require no language skills to decipher. Holy Sh*t ShoppingLocation: Phoenixhalle im Römerkastell, Stuttgart, Germany Dates: Dec. 22-23 (noon- 9 p.m. Sat.; noon- 8 p.m. Sun.) Wares from hip young designers are sold in time to a mellow soundtrack. The goods on sale include lighting, home decor, jewelry, photos, handmade stuffed toys, woolens, ceramics and more. Street food sold on site turns the outing from a shopping experience into a bit of a party. Admission: Adult entry costs 5 euros, those under 14 enter free. Christmas MagicLocation: Triberg, Germany Dates: Dec. 25-30 The spirit of Christmas lives on in the Black Forest, where a million lights transform Germany’s highest waterfall into a luminous cascade. A children’s land and festive show program provide hours of lively entertainment. A highlight is the sensational fire show, which is performed five times throughout the day. Circumnavigando FestivalLocation: Genoa, Italy Dates: Dec. 26-Jan. 6 Sites scattered throughout the city host the performances of theater companies and circus troupes. This year’s theme is “Generaction,” which refers to new generations of performers taking to the stage, as well as the all-ages appeal of the programming here.
