Shotaro Ikeda ©Stars and StripesTachikawa Air Base, Japan, March, 1960: It may have been one of the less fearsome vehicles to emerge from this U.S. Air Force C-130 transport plane during the year, but to its intended recipients this Minneapolis-Moline tractor was a godsend. The tractor and a plow were gifts from the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Texas to the Orphans Home of Korea, which would make good use of the equipment on its 20-acre farm near Kimpo Air Base. With the tractor here are Capt. Thomas Simon, seated, the pilot of the C-130, and Capt. John C. Whistler.
