YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — A sailor was found dead in Yokosuka harbor early Tuesday, according to base officials.

Chief Petty Officer JoseJoewey Madrigal Butor, an aviation boatswain’s mate-fuels, was found floating in the water near Berth 2 by the Japanese Coast Guard about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, base officials said. He was 50.

Butor was attached to Navy Supply Fleet Logistics Center at Yokosuka.

The cause of death is under investigation and further details regarding the death were unavailable Thursday, Navy officials said.
