Division I

American School In Japan at Nile C. Kinnick, 7 p.m. – Could be quite the tight showdown. Mustangs won the D-I title last year; Red Devils handed them their only loss in 2016. … Red Devils 19, Mustangs 18.

Division II

Yokota at Robert D. Edgren, 7 p.m. – Rejuvenated Eagles could secure their first victory over the Panthers in nine years. … Eagles 20, Panthers 19.

Guam

Simon Sanchez at John F. Kennedy, 3 p.m. – Sharks have also come alive, and should have their way on a balmy Guam afternoon. … Sharks 17, Islanders 10.
Southern at Okkodo, 7 p.m. – Here come the Bulldogs, holding sway and getting into the win column. … Bulldogs 12, Dolphins 9.

Saturday, Sept. 9

Division II

Daegu at Matthew C. Perry, 7 p.m. – A rematch of the 2014 Far East D-II title game won’t be as high-scoring as the one that featured 110 points lo’ those three years ago. … Samurai 23, Warriors 17.

Songdo at Osan, 2 p.m. – Cougars return to the field for the first time since the 2015 season, and it’s gonna take a game or two before they find their groove again. … Songdo 15, Cougars 9.

 

Inter-division

Kubasaki at Humphreys, 6 p.m. – First meeting between the two teams, and the Blackhawks should give something of a preview of what they’ll be like when they become a large school next year. … Blackhawks 18, Dragons 14.

Guam

Guam vs. Father Duenas at Mangilao, 10 a.m. – Here comes the tough part of the schedule for the Panthers against the two-time defending champions. … Friars 21, Panthers 7.
