Taegu, South Korea, February, 1960: Catherine Cowan, right, director of the children's wing of the Taegu Presbyterian Hospital, receives a questioning look from a Korean baby who received the first inoculation of vaccine donated by the Taegu Orphans Fund Council. The group, made up of U.S. Forces personnel, presented 10,500 cc of diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus vaccine to the Taegu and Kyungbuk University hospitals to begin a 16-month immunization campaign.
