Anthony Burgos ©Stars and StripesAugusta Bay, Sicily, February, 2001: Ensign Fotis Koumanakos dangles his legs into an escape hatch aboard the Greek submarine HS Poseidon during Dogfish 2001, NATO's largest anti-submarine warfare exercise involving forces from Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the U.K. and the U.S. Seven submarines, 17 maritime patrol aircraft and nine surface ships took part in the two-week sub-hunting training east of Sicily in the Ionian Sea.
