Description: AAMI has a long history as a leader in funeral service education. The Associate Degree Program in funeral service is offered on campus in midtown Manhattan and online. Online students are required to attend a two week capstone experience in New York in the last semester of their program. The online program is identical to the campus program in the courses offered, the course content and the requirements that a student must complete for graduation. Both programs require the completion of 69 credits of prescribed courses.

AAMI prepares students to successfully pass the National Board Exam. In 2009, over 90% of AAMI graduates passed the National Board Exam the first time. Most of the AAMI faculty are licensed funeral directors who have achieved further expertise in the field of education. This combination makes for enriching academic experiences that present the theoretical elements of funeral service education with a realistic eye toward their practical application.
