“Das Ei in Kunst and Brauchtum” (“The Egg in Art and Tradition”) is the theme of this weekend’s Easter egg market in the 13th-century Eberbach monastery in Eltville, Germany, on the Rhine River.Seventy exhibitors from 10 countries will show off their creative egg-decorating talents in the lay brothers refectory. Other spring-themed crafts such as ceramics, batiks, patchwork and porcelain also will be for sale.

The market is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is 5 euros for adults, free for children up to age 14. The monastery website is www.kloster-eberbach.de, in German.
