For those who haven’t yet booked their summer getaway, here are a couple of websites that might be of interest.

The first line of attack could be to identify what flights are available from nearby airports. The website www.whichbudget.com can help pinpoint your options. Choose the country of departure and then search the dropdown list for nearby cities with airports. All the destination countries from a particular airport will be listed. Click on the name of a destination city, and there will be an icon of the airline that offers service on that route. Whichbudget will then redirect you to that airline’s website, where you can check airfares for proposed travel dates.

Interested in an airline’s official rating? Skytrax also rates carriers on a 1- to 5-star basis, much as hotels are, examining more than 800 aspects of an airline’s product and service. A 5-star rating means the airline meets high performance standards, while 1-star indicates inconsistent standards of service. See how your carrier stacks up at www.airlinequality.com.
