Each year on Easter Monday, the town of Herve, in Belgium’s Liege Province, is the site of an elaborate procession. At 2:30 p.m. April 17, brass bands, processions on horseback, and 30 floats pulled by massive Ardennais and Brabant draught horses will set forth as part of the 141th edition of the Cavalcade of Herve. The after-parade action, which includes singing groups and dancing, centers on the Place Albert. Festivities are topped off by a fireworks display which goes off at 9 p.m. See www.cavalcadeherve.com/programme-2017.
