The aircraft carrier USS Enterprise played host to a special delegation of Moroccan dignitaries, high-ranking military officers and reporters on Friday.

The carrier is currently in the Mediterranean Sea.

Moroccan speaker of parliament, Abdulwahed Radi, was among the visitors to tour the aircraft carrier and watch flight operations, and visitors met with Rear Adm. Ray Spicer, commander of the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group, according to a Navy news release.

The visits go toward building and strengthening military and diplomatic relationships with nations in the Med, said Capt. Larry Rice, the carrier’s commanding officer. “Hosting the Moroccans was a fantastic way for the [United States] to demonstrate our resolve in growing and furthering the relationships between us and our coalition allies and partners,” Rice said in the release.

The Enterprise currently is on a six-month deployment to support global war on terror efforts.
